On the road to recovery

My double masectomy surgery went well and I am home recovering.  Cutting back on the hydrocodone drugs today as they make me way too loopey.  Cannot remember what I did an hour ago.  Found out great news from the pathology report!!  My cancer has been downgraded to stage 1 because there was no cancer found in my left arm lymph nodes.  Unfortunatley they had to take them all out to find out this news...darn.  There was 4 tumors (ranging in size from 0.2cm - 2.0cm) and all aggressive.  This cancer was growing so fast that the doctor made a comment that we would would be looking at a different scenerio 2 months out if not caught.  Amazing that the little pea sized bump I felt a month ago was a storm brewing in me.  All the tissue around the tumors is clear/no cancer.  So I am cancer free!!  I will still have to go through 4 months of chemo and maybe radiation for insurance purposes, due to my young age.  The dangling carrot - reconstructive surgery next winter :)
