Embracing dependency

I have been proud of my strong independent nature. I can do it and need no help. This works well in the work world but bears no merit when healing from cancer or any health issue. At first it was hard to accept the offers of help without feeling some guilt. However how does someone go through something like this without a village?? I sit up in my bedroom today while listening to my Mother-in-law juggling two boys, laundry, and cleaning the kitchen. She is a rock star and we are so blessed. I am embracing the need to be dependent in certain times of my life and am so thankful for all the help we have received from family and friends. I’ll reserve the independence craving for other matters.

  1. That's what family is for and someday you'll be called on to help someone you love. We all get the call at some point, and you will feel like I did... Lucky enough to be in the position to help and really show someone how much you love them.
