Good-bye Drains

Today was a great day! I had my stitches and drains removed. If anyone has had these drains before you know the feeling of great desire to have them OUT! Besides they totally throw off the outfit potentials. A puffy jacket helps. I’m now onto recovery mode and told I can drive and slowly get back to my normal routine. Amy, I’ll be joining you at aerobics soon!! You all know this thing is not going to slow me down. I should also mention that we met with my Oncologist (Dr. Tanya Wahl) yesterday to review my pathology report. I’m still amazed how aggressive my cancer was and I did not feel it. You would think I would have been a little tired with a beast growing in me? Anywho, I caught it early and it is out of me and off to Fred Hutch for research. For chemo I have been asked to be involved in a clinical trial called “Beth”. How uncanny is that! It involves Bericizumab (Arastin) being added to my chemo cocktail. I have a stack of papers to read about it but if anyone knows of this trial or Bericizumab please fill me in. Another good thing to note is since my lymph nodes were negative for cancer the ball is in my court as to whether I want radiation or not. I will receive the opinions of a couple Radiation Oncologist before making my decision but it would be nice to by-pass this step! Time to open a bottle of wine and have a nice big glass!
